Nestled on a leafy corner of Mt. Lookout Square, The Copper Fern feels like stepping into your most creative friend’s living room — warm, well-styled, and full of surprises.
Owner Samantha Leigh, a former interior stylist turned small business dreamer, opened the shop in 2022 after leaving her corporate job to pursue a slower, more intentional life.
“I wanted to create a space that felt like joy in physical form,” she says. “Something that sparks inspiration but also feels attainable — like you could go home and recreate a bit of that magic yourself.”

The Copper Fern curates locally made goods, hand-poured candles, small-batch ceramics, pressed flower prints, and ethically sourced home décor. Every item tells a story — from Cincinnati-made lavender bath soaks to vintage-style taper holders crafted by an artisan in Kentucky.
But what makes the shop truly special is its rotating “Maker’s Nook,” a feature wall that highlights a new woman-owned brand each month. Past collaborations have included floral resin jewelry by Honeyhill Studio and hand-stitched textiles from Thread + Root.
“I love how this city supports its makers,” Samantha says. “She Shops Cincy has become such a community for that — it’s a reminder that women business owners don’t have to compete. We can build something stronger together.”
Whether you’re hunting for a unique gift, styling your space, or just need a little pick-me-up, The Copper Fern delivers with its mix of cozy charm and creative spark.
